Short Answer

Expert verified

Multicellular organism produce a lot of cell in second and at the same time lot of cell dies. This maintain a homeostatic in body. The process of cell dead is known as apoptosis or programmed cell death. This maintain a programmed cell death. If apoptosis fails cancer will be occurred.

Step by step solution

01

Step 1:

Apoptosis is maintained by the mitochondria. It is helpful in multicellular organ. In apoptosis the cytoplasm and the nucleus squeezed and cell become fragmented.

02

Step 2:

But the unicellular organism has only one cell which perform all the activities. If apoptosis or programmed cell death occurs in the unicellular organism, it will squeeze the nucleus and the cytoplasm and the unicellular organism will die. The whole cell will be fragmented.

For this reason apoptosis is disadvantageous for the unicellular organism.
